Lowndes Grove is a picturesque waterfront venue that dates back to the 1700's and is nestled among the old oak trees of the Ashley River. In 2021, IES helped to put on over 25 weddings at Lowndes Grove and in this blog post we are going to give you a behind the scenes look at our biggest wedding, designed by Pure Luxe Bride, at this beautiful low-country venue! This jaw dropping design featured the prettiest shades of blush, lush florals, greenery, and romantic lighting. Make sure to check out the featured article in Style Me Pretty for more of this gorgeous design!
The reception tent was where the real magic of the design happened. There wasn't one area where a detail went overlooked. We helped to install three floral arches designed by Petaloso over the head table as the focal point of the reception. To add a romantic ambiance, we rigged rows of airy greenery in between our Café Lights and Valentina Chandeliers that were placed around the tent! The intricate gold and crystal detail of the Valentinas added a vintage look to the design. We collaborated with Petaloso once again to hang a 4 x 11 frame covered in florals and greenery with a cluster of 3 Valentina Chandeliers as a focal point over the customized dance floor decal. Lastly, for the side tent, we hung an X pattern of Café Lights with 2 of our large Valentina Chandeliers for a detail oriented look.
One of our favorite parts of this wedding design is the 10x10x10 wooden pergola we built to go over the custom bar. This unique design created a frame for our stunning Luxe Chandeliers that were hung from the branches of an old oak tree. The gold and crystal detail of the Luxe Chandelier added a luxurious element to the wooden and earthy look of the bar. Hanging our chandeliers outdoors creates a romantic ambiance as night sets in and the detail of the design is illuminated in a warm and inviting glow.
As the sun starts to set much earlier in November, it was a necessity to light to the oyster tabby by the dock so guests could enjoy some fresh air and cocktails out of the reception tent. We hung a double V pattern of our black Café Lights from the trees to connect it to the pipe and base by the dock. This created a simple look that illuminated the detail of the chic furniture and lush florals below.
Hannah and George's ceremony was held on the front lawn just before an iconic Charleston sunset for a warm and romantic glow above the Ashley River. The aisle was lined with more beautiful florals and textured pink pampas grass that led to a stunning chapel arbor wedding altar. Although we didn't provide any lighting for the ceremony, we couldn't complete this behind-the-scenes look without mentioning the beautiful details of the wedding ceremony.
